FAN FEST – 2019
Barnstormers to Host Black Sox in Sneak Preview
Lancaster Barnstormers’ fans will get their first opportunity to “Rock the L” in full swing for 2019 when the host club takes on the Black Sox, Saturday, April 20 at Clipper Magazine Stadium. Gates will open at noon. The first pitch will be thrown at 1:00 PM.
That afternoon, the Barnstormers will host the annual Fan Fest Game against the Black Sox, a traveling squad consisting of professional and amateur players looking for spots on regular season rosters. The game will serve as the centerpiece of an entire free afternoon of family fun at the ballpark where both the regular and casual fans can get that first taste of summer and a preview of Ross Peeples’ third squad as the Barnstormers’ manager as he looks to get to the playoffs for the second straight year.
Not only can people experience baseball on the 20th, they can plan on having lunch at the ballpark as concessions will be in full swing. Plus, the first 500 youngsters entering the gates will get free ice cream presented by the Community Services Group.
The family will be able to play catch in the stadium outfield prior to the game and get autographs from Lancaster’s professional baseball team. There will be balloon art and a face painter, plus the play area will be in full operation. Kids will also be able to make their first 360-foot trip around the bases courtesy of Domino’s Pizza. A reward of a coupon for a free kid–sized pizza awaits them at the end of the circuit.
While there, fans can make their plans for a summer of fun at the ballpark by picking up a copy of the 2019 Barnstormers magnet schedule thanks to Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster. Make sure to stop by the Two Dudes Box Office to buy a 2019 ticket plan that suits your lifestyle. Special flash deals will also be available throughout the day in the box office, online at www.lancasterbarnstormers.com, and at tables set-up on the concourse.
“Fan Fest is a free event and open to the public. We can’t wait to greet the fans and get this season started,” said general manager Mike Reynolds. “We have a whole host of activities planned for 2019 that everyone will enjoy!“
