Josh Bell

Hitting Coach

Josh Bell had an All-Star season as a member of the 2016 Lancaster Barnstormers.  Now, he will endeavor to translate his on field success into those that follow.
Following a 2016 campaign in which Bell led the Atlantic League with 87 RBI, he has become the new hitting coach for the Barnstormers in 2017.
Unlike Peeples and Patterson, Bell is a relative newcomer to Lancaster, having joined the Barnstormers just last season.  He made a huge impact, batting .296 with 19 home runs and 29 doubles.  He finished the season second in the league in walks with 71 and sixth in OPS at .864.
A defensive wizard at third base, the switch hitting Bell also played the other three infield positions for the Barnstormers in 2016.
Bell signed originally with the LA Dodgers in 2005, but it was a mid-season trade to the Baltimore Orioles in 2009 that led to his first big league callup, joining the Birds for 53 games in 2010.  He also played for Baltimore again in 2011 and the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012.
On August 21, 2010, Bell homered in consecutive innings off former Cy Young winner Cliff Lee in a game at Camden Yards against the Texas Rangers.
